Aug 21/22, 2010 Santa Monica, California - Profiles in History - Official LOST show Auction- losttheauction.com

"Guys.. where are we?"

An airport.

The hanger

The auction was held inside an airplane hanger at the Santa Monica airport, in California. The atmosphere strangely fit with the show's theme with the constant sounds of planes zooming overhead.

Playing out more like a "LOST Con" than an auction, this ended up as a LOST fan's paradise- really everyone was having as much fun as Hurley with a bucket of chicken! Sadly this was the last opportunity to bid farewell to the show for good, and a chance to own a piece of television history.

If you've seen the show, these were NOT run-of-the-mill show props being auctioned off. There was sections of the crashed airplane, blast doors from the hatch, cave stalagmites, full size costumes, rows of airline seats, automobiles, parts of the ancient temple, the atom bomb etc etc..
The hatch and a sweet backdrop
The quick and the dead (Ben's dad)

They also nailed the "desert island" feel because there was no running water there! So it got suck real fast when you get thirsty and all there's to drink is "Hanson's soda" (an event sponsor) Soda is fine for a while but then you start craving real WATER! But no matter. YOU CAN SIT ON THE PLANE!!
What? It's not going to crash or anything...

With so many of the show's items and props under one roof I had to think that it would have made for a neat permanent museum. The show generated a huge fan-base with global interest reaching practically every demographic plus there is so much crazy stuff, I'm sure that any fan would have wanted to see it in person. Not everyone in the world could be at the live auction or could have afforded buying anything, and sadly now there's no longer any hope for them to see it which is too bad! Oh well. It's gone now! Oopsy Bye bye! Gone gone! Forever! Watch reruns and try to smile.
